The exhibition at LA Joaillerie by Mazlo, Paris, was curated within a vaulted room, which itself reflected the images of Anderson Shelters, referenced within the artist’s supporting poem. The ‘shadow boxes’ invited the viewer into an intimate exchange, providing mystery and magnification, so the works could be viewed from different angles.

Each showcase contained an excerpt selected from the diaries of Lily Pond, with consideration of the pieces it supported. The diary entries were written with somewhat English reserve, however, each offers an insight into the daily life of the wartime wife and mother, during the Blitz of 1940.
